Working English translation of Guruji’s words — for review.
First bowing to the father and mother who gave me birth, offering praise to Lord Vinayaka, the foremost of all deities, and worshipping the Guru who kindled wisdom in me, I speak here of myself.
My subtle Gurus — the Lord as “Thandayudhapani” and “Nataraja”, and Guru Kakabhujandar — have taken me into their care in subtle form, blessed me, and granted me wisdom. My gross (living) Guru is Sri La Sri Sarkkarai Manradiyar Swamigal, my grandfather, who for seven generations stood as guide to the kings and royal families who ruled the Tamil land, giving them the blessings and the solutions they needed. Our origin is the Idaiyatthi Adheenam in the Pudukkottai district of Tamil Nadu, in Bharata.
In keeping with the command given to me by the Lord, I serve as family Guru to many households. To those who come seeking me I give the divine services of temple Agama rites and yagnas; the wisdom granted to me by the Lord — deiva prasannam, sozhi prasannam, manaiyadi shastram, samudrika prasannam, pancha pakshi shastram; the yantra prayoga, tantric poojas and mantra prayoga taught to me by my Gurus; and, through the Upanishads granted to me by Lord Murugan, the treasures of pana-vasyam and of “theem” — guiding our people towards the fulfilment of the purpose of their birth.
Further, I offer to the people the most sacred yoga methods I have realised, so that through them a person may know the purpose of their birth, bring their inward mental power into harmony with the great power of the universe, and set right the wellbeing of body and mind. This sacred work I undertake for the good of the people of this world.
